Community Service

One of our missions at GAA is to instill in our students a desire to serve the community through their unique talents and abilities. Therefore, each secondary student is required to complete at least 40 hours of community service before the school year ends. Students at GAA have a variety of opportunities to get involve with the community. From mission trips overseas to picking up trash in the community, there are many ways to help and we want our students to realize that they have much to offer.

Community service is required of all junior high and high school students. The 7TH and 8th grades are required to complete 20 hours of community service. The 9th through 12th grades are required to complete 40 hours of community service.  All community service must be approved by the principal before the student starts his/her community service.  Students may earn community service hours as teacher assistants and receive valuable training.  School projects and community designated days impact students’ commitment to their community.
