Lunch Calendar

Our lunches are carefully prepared by Mrs. Kathy Robinson who has been creating daily nutritious, vegetarian meals to be sold from our kitchen for the past two years. Robinson, who’s been working in the food industry since the age of 19, couples her culinary talents and experience with principles of healthy diet to create delectable, health-conscious meals for our campus.

Parents are able to pay two weeks in advanced for their child’s lunch. To submit prepaidorders, please call our office to make arrangements.

Parents are asked to provide nutritious lunches for their children.  Fresh fruit juice and water are encouraged instead of high sugar content drinks.  Drinks with high sugar content such as soda pop, tea and drinks with caffeine are prohibited on campus.  Students do better in school when they are not artificially energized by high sugar and caffeinated food items.  When the body has used up the sudden energy burst, it responds to the drop of energy with a sense of fatigue.  Complex carbohydrate foods that provide ongoing release of energy as they slowly metabolize throughout the day are a better energy source for students.  Carbohydrates include fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for students. Often when a student reports a headache during the morning, they did not eat breakfast. After they have some food, they usually are OK and return to their classroom. Please make it a priority to arrange the home schedule to include breakfast time for your children, before they leave for school. A snack sent with the student might alleviate the problem, too.
