Graduation Contract
Seniors who are eligible and would like to participate in the graduation ceremony must agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and policies stated herein and in the Guam Adventist Academy Student Handbook.
Participating in the graduation ceremony is a privilege (Williams v. Austin Independent School District, 796 F. Supp. 251, 1992). To participate, I must agree and adhere to the following:
I will attend scheduled practices for the graduation ceremony. Anyone who misses or arrives late to practice or leaves practice early will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
I agree to abide by the approved protocol guidelines to wear the authorized cap, gown, and tassel for the ceremony without making alterations or decorations. I may wear one honor cord or sash.
I agree to conform to the following dress code for the graduation ceremony:
Girls shall wear clothing in accordance with the dress standards contained in the Student Handbook. Additionally, dresses shall not extend beyond the length of the robe, and dark colored dress closed-toed shoes shall be worn.
Boys shall clothing in accordance with the dress standards as contained Student Handbook. Additionally, boys shall wear collared dress shirt, dress slacks, and dark colored dress shoes.
Non-functional jewelry shall not be worn.
I agree to pay all outstanding fees/fines to Guam Adventist Academy by April 30.
I agree to complete all academic requirements and earn a minimum of 22+ credits before graduation.
I agree to avoid being suspended from school. Any suspension during the 4th quarter will result in my exclusion from the graduation ceremony.
I agree to respect everyone and not use language in public or through social media networks, generally considered offensive, towards students, faculty, staff, or administrators of the school.
I agree to not use language in public or through social media networks that will undermine the authority of the school officials.
I understand that participation in the graduation ceremony is not required to receive my high school diploma. Should I be excluded from participating in the graduation ceremony as a result of violating this contract, a mandatory student/parent conference must be held with an administrator to receive my diploma.
